Ultra-high moisture barriers
Barrier structures for protecting flexible devices such as OLEDs and perovskite solar cells has been achieved through a solution process. Dense inorganic films is formed from precursor films fabricated by a solution process by irradiation with vacuum ultraviolet light (wavelength 172nm) at room temperature and under nitrogen. We achieved the world's highest barrier performance (WVTR = 5 x 10^-5 g/m2/day) in a solution process. In addition, the latest results have also succeeded in reducing the exposure time to ultra-short time.
Dielectric mirrors
Dielectric mirrors can control the reflection and transmission of light of specific wavelengths (ultraviolet, visible, and infrared), and are used in optical devices such as OLEDs and optical films. Dielectric mirrors have an alternating multi-layer structure of high and low refractive index material. Our laboratory has succeeded in fabricating dielectric mirrors with TiOx/SiOx structure using a photo-densification reaction. This reaction can apply to film substrates such as PET due to room temperature process .
